- The Schermerhorn Symphony Center
- TheCenter is an acoustical masterpiece built to house the Nashville Symphony. It was named in honor of the late Maestro Kenneth Schermerhorn.
- The Frist Center
- A key link in the cultural arts of Nashville, the Center is featuring the exhibit Future/Now which includes some 80 works by area college and university art students.
- Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre
- This theatre is Nashville's first and oldest Professional Theatre. Performers offer a live Broadway Style show in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere.

Nashville has been a very important area for the African American Culture and educational movements. Nashville's colleges have produced some of the most notable African American people involved in music, the Olympics, the medical profession, church leaders, and the civil rights movement. The Fisk University Historic District has produced many outstanding graduates, including author W.E.B. Du Bois; Margaret Murray Washington, wife of Booker T. Washington; John Hope Franklin, premier African American historian; Nikki Giovanni, nationally known poet; and many others.

- These include the First Baptist Church Capital Hill that was important for civil rights in 1960's and Capers Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, the oldest African American Church in Nashville.
- Fort Negley
- A fort largely built by black laborers to defend Nashville from Confederate attacks in 1862.
